Hundreds of businesses, organizations and individuals have supported our efforts to create safe organized spaces for the un-housed residents of our community. Here are just a few of the ways they have helped:

Picture
Chevron Corporation helped fund our mobile shower unit which has made over 150 visits at homeless communities, providing over 1,000 free showers. Chevron helps improve neighborhood safety by funding the Streets Team in  Point Richmond and North Richmond .

Ellen Jones:  I try to help with one of the most pressing needs for homeless folks which is having proper i.d.  and documentation.   People need  these to apply for stimulus checks and other benefits they may be entitled to such as food stamps,  general assistance, drivers license, and social security or just to apply for a job.

Richmond Rotary helped us buy our first truck, a mighty Ford F 150 that we use to pull the shower trailer and haul  trash and supplies. Rotary members continue to support us in many ways including volunteering and maintaining the SOS Amazon Donation Registry.

Jonathan Lawlis and Darlene Quenelle  Donated their 2007 GMC Denali to SOS which has been a workhorse in delivering the Shower Power trailer and in hauling trash collected by the Streets Team. Darlene came up with the idea to open an Amazon Gift Registry for SOS where donors can easily purchase tents, sleeping bags and other vital gear for donation to homeless residents.

Anwar Imtair and his wife and children operate the 3M Market in North Richmond. They host the Shower Power trailer on a regular basis, and extend a helping hand to neighbors, both housed and un-housed, as part of their dedication to building a strong community.

Gaia Yoga Studios
in Point Richmond holds "Seva Saturdays" where customers are encouraged to bring in donations for SOS Richmond including clothing, food and cash. Thanks to Martina Chavez and Kip Taylor Kern.

Republic Services which operates the Golden Bear Transfer Station provides discounted dumping charges for the 5 tons of trash trash that SOS Richmond's Streets Team brings in every week. And they work with us in a city-wide campaign to prevent illegal dumping, one of the major sources of unsightly  trash  plaguing many  Richmond neighborhoods.

Rebecca Feder and Griff Hulsey organize monthly flea markets in El Sobrante July 24 that raised over thousands of dollars for SOS Richmond.
