Sophia Cowan brings both heart and expertise to her work at SOS Richmond. As Programs and Administrative Coordinator, she keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes. A graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Public Health, Sophia was drawn to the field by a deep concern about inequities in access to health care. That same concern now fuels her commitment to building programs that center dignity, equity, and lived experience.
Originally from Portland, Oregon and now living in Berkeley, Sophia also works as an Assistant Manager for The Fountain Project, a key partner in SOS’s work. Whether she’s juggling logistics, supporting frontline teams, or encouraging community voices to shape program design, Sophia approaches it all with curiosity and compassion. Her friends describe her as kind and empathetic, and she’s proud to be a lifelong learner—always asking how we can do better, together. |
