Projects in Development

We aim to provide support for unsheltered people, wherever they live. The urgency of the need demands flexible and diverse solutions.

In addition to the services we are currently offering at existing encampments, we are also pursuing other strategies to improve the safety and quality of life for unsheltered people in Richmond.
  • Micro-sites - scattered across city neighborhoods, generally located in private parking lots, these clusters of 1-8 households will provide safe and secure off-street parking for residents living in their vehicles.
  • Transitional village - to be located in a nonresidential area, this will offer a safe organized place for unsheltered residents with or without vehicles to live while transitioning to more permanent housing.  The transitional village model allows for robust community participation and for more efficient distribution of resources. Improved sanitation, hygiene and cooking options will result in safer conditions for the residents and the broader community.
