YOU BELONG IN THE COMMUNITY OF CARE

Everyone wants a safe place to call home, no matter what we look like, how much we earn, or where we lie down to sleep. A house is a great start, but it doesn’t make a home. We all need community, and none of us can succeed alone.

When we see homelessness in our neighborhoods, it is not unusual that the first response is fear, sadness, concern, anger, or a combination of these. We all want a solution, and knowing what is best is difficult.

Right here in Richmond, we are innovating pathways for safer, street-level, dignified solutions based on peer accompaniment (watch the video!)

Addressing homelessness compassionately will make our communities stronger, more inclusive, healthier, and more resilient. The majority of us believe that everyone deserves a home and a caring community. SOS Richmond is working to make these a reality.

If you are concerned about an unhoused neighbor or an encampment, call our Neighbor Care Line at 510.806.8650 first. A staff member who has experienced homelessness can offer a softer, more compassionate approach to helping our unhoused neighbors, creating better neighborhoods for all.

HOW DO YOU JOIN THE COMMUNITY OF CARE? HERE'S HOW TO START....
