Challenging anti-homelessness attitudes starts with shifting the way we think and talk. Many myths about people experiencing homelessness (PEH) are rooted in stereotypes—not reality. This guide breaks down harmful narratives and offers simple, effective ways to respond with facts, empathy, and respect. Whether it’s questioning assumptions, highlighting real-life success stories, or amplifying voices of lived experience, each of us can help build a more compassionate and informed community. Let’s stop assuming, start listening, and support solutions that truly work.

Scroll down for a printable guide. Thank you to Ryan Wythe, board member and Homeless Services Director at LifeLong Medical Care for creating this guide.
